Nostalgia bomb
Antonia ordered a bunch of old school Strawberry Shortcake dolls off eBay for Esme for Christmas. They came today, and the moment I picked one up, I could feel the way her plastic shoes would squish between my back teeth as if I were already chewing on them (I didn’t). The combination of that plastic face and scented hair is what my childhood smelled like, and if someone made a pillow that captured that aroma I’d buy one and use it in lieu of lorazepam.
