Sleepaway Camp messed me up for weeks. I was ten maybe? The only movie that scarred me worse was Poltergeist, which was the first movie I ever saw that wasn’t animated or involving Hayley Mills or E.T. I saw it at a slumber party and then didn’t sleep for months. I was seven. My mother called the mother of the girl and soundly gave her what-for. I was not the least bit embarrassed.
